Willamette Valley Old-Time Social

The first-ever Willamette Valley Old-Time Social was a raging success! We met our goals, with room to spare. We hosted folks from four states and even all the way from Berkley and British Columbia (so, now we can call ourselves an international festival!) with a whole weekend attendance at about 350 folks.

But, more importantly, we hope to have inspired our own local community to come together to make fun stuff happen right here in the Willamette Valley.

Many hands make light work! We couldn't have done it without all the volunteers who contributed time, creativity, good will and money.   Thank you, Volunteers!

Please consider making a donation to support this all-volunteer, non-profit festival. If you can’t donate, there are plenty of volunteer positions that need to be filled for next year! You can learn more or donate to the Social at www.mudcityoldtime.org.

We practice Thursday evenings at the Atrium Building at 8th and Oak, Eugene. For more info call Patricia at 541-686-6117 or email 2riversmorris@gmail.com .

→  EFS Swim & Pizza Party - Report from Ken

The EFS Swim and Pizza party was a huge success with a record number (100+) of people coming to the country rancho of Ken and Jane near Cottage Grove. There was a fine turnout from Corvallis, and many of us brought friends or family along. With such a large showing, the pizza baking line took awhile and then some, but it all worked out fine. Our pizza guru, Brian, worked wonders and was eternally patient. It was a warm enough day to swim in the ever-brisk pond or poke around in the water or with the paddle boat. It seemed like more people sipped lemonade in the shade than went hiking around the back woods.

Thanks go to Joseph for overseeing the Talent Show, and it was proven that we can do lots more than dance. Joseph also got the whole band, Lazy The Man, to serenade us: Joseph, Mark, Michael, Jack, and Dale.

Thanks also go to the EFS for sponsoring this gathering. We all look forward to this coming dance season and seeing our friends back on the dance floor...
